EQUINE FACILITATED LEARNING FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?
A one-off intro session is $180. Hidden Springs is $1,200 and Confidence Through Connection is $850, with two-payment options for both. The free 15-minute chat costs nothing. Full details are on the Prices page.
Do I need horse experience?
No. You’re welcome here whether or not you’ve been around horses before.
Do you offer riding?
All the work at Caspian Herd happens on the ground. This isn’t about riding or training. It’s about connecting with the horses and noticing what that relationship shows you about yourself. If you’d like to learn to ride, I’m happy to recommend instructors who share our approach.
How do I book?
Start with a free 15-minute chat so we can make sure this is the right fit for you, and that you’re the right fit for the herd. If you’re ready to try it, you can also book an intro session directly.
What if I’m afraid of horses?
Any fear you feel is welcomed as useful feedback — something we notice and work through together. We move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
How long is each session?
One-on-one sessions run for about 90 minutes. Group sessions TBA.
Where are you?
At Caspian Herd in Boyland, in the Gold Coast Hinterland. You’ll get directions once you book.
What should I wear?
Closed-in shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dusty. Sessions go ahead in most weather, including light rain if it’s safe, so bring sunscreen and a jacket if you need one.
What if I already have horse experience?
This work is different from horsemanship or riding. Even experienced horse people often find it shows them something new about themselves and their horses.
What qualifications do you have?
I’m a qualified Equine Facilitated Learning practitioner. Sessions are hands-on and designed to help you notice, feel and connect.
Is this counselling or therapy?
No. It isn’t a replacement for counselling or therapy where that’s needed, but it can work really well alongside any professional support you already have.
Are you insured?
Yes. I’m fully insured for all sessions. Safety matters, for you and for the horses.
How is this different from patting ponies?
Patting ponies is a lovely way to spend an afternoon, but it’s not what we do here. Every activity has a purpose, and what happens between you and the herd is guided and intentional.
Can I buy a session or program as a gift?
Yes. If you know a woman or young person who’d get something out of this, get in touch and we’ll make it happen.
